Passive or interactive environment?

The important thing in a room is to ensure that all elements that are part of it are available to all. In this sense, the secret of the rooms is to shape the space with the elements.

Stimulation rooms are divided firstly, into white rooms (passive environment) and blacks (active environment), according to the activity that exists within the room itself and the elements that comprise it.

Passive environment requires that the resident is immersed within a cap of security and calm, caressed and stimulated by the sensory effects, not to mention the contribution of a teacher or assistant sensitive and communicative. This environment corresponds to the white room, which leads to relaxation, a place of calm and security. The vast majority of the elements that comprise it automatically and the person are limited quite simply to discover things, adopting a more passive attitude.

On the other hand, the active environment (and interactive) involves the participation of residents in learning and allows them to realize a sense of being capable of acting on their environment (cause and effect). This coincides with the black room, which serves to activate the individual and can be defined as an interactive classroom where he is one himself who must operate the different devices out there.

At first, this division into black and white rooms has spread throughout Europe, although Handycat has secured a place in the Spanish market, as a pioneer in creating a room that was a mixture of the two, white the black, adding, though, more elements of the active passive environment. In fact, this combination of the two multi-sensory stimulation rooms was very well received in the special schools of our country and facilitated marketing.
